DCH Auto Group Joins Forces with National Organizations for Youth Safety

Auto Group Sees Value in Alliance; Enhances Commitment to Teen Safe Driving Through Education and Outreach

SOUTH AMBOY, N.J., April 27 -- DCH Auto Group today announced its alliance with the National Organizations for Youth Safety to educate and empower youth to make decisions that save lives, prevent injuries and promote healthy living. May is National Youth Traffic Safety Month sponsored by National Organizations for Youth Safety, during which DCH Auto Group will hold safe teen driving events on May 2 and 3 throughout its dealerships in New Jersey, southern New York, and Fairfield, Conn. All DCH sponsored SADD chapters will participate in the events.

DCH Auto Group has chosen to support National Organizations for Youth Safety due to its mission and success of promoting youth safety. National Organizations for Youth Safety helps protect the lives of countless youth; representing more than 80 million youth and adults through its many programs and events. "Our company's values, when working with organizations, communities and our employees, are to be 'driven by a better way.' This philosophy steers the operation of our company, which includes our commitment to local residents and their families," said DCH Auto Group president and CEO Susan Scarola.

"Mindless Driving. Keep It out of Cars(TM), an exclusive DCH, long-term, teen-focused, driving-safety community outreach program, is a meaningful way that DCH helps tackle an important community issue head-on," said Scarola. The cornerstone of this program is DCH's affiliation with SADD. DCH is the exclusive automotive dealer sponsor of SADD in all of New Jersey, southern New York state, Fairfield, Conn. and southern California from Santa Barbara to San Diego. "We recognize the alliance with National Organizations for Youth Safety as the next logical step in our commitment to teen safe driving. Through joining forces we believe this campaign can make an enormous difference to reduce the number of teenage tragedies behind the wheel," said Scarola.

"We recognized that the way to ensure the safety of our youth was to ensure they understood the dangers that faced them every day," said Hilda Crespo, president of National Organizations for Youth Safety. "We decided to join together to promote that understanding."

As driving statistics show, the concern for teen driving safety is great. According to Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, car accidents are the main cause of teenage fatalities. In fact, according to the most recent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tally, more than 5,000 teens died in car related accidents in 2006, which is more than the amount of U.S. soldiers' lives lost in the Middle East.

2009 Will Be Final Model Year of Production for Honda S2000

Segment-defining roadster won numerous accolades during its 9-year run

The 2009 Honda S2000 will be the final model year produced of the award-winning roadster, Honda announced today. First introduced in 1999 for the 2000 model year, the S2000 helped define its segment with class-leading handling, engine technology and value. Originally envisioned as a limited-edition tribute to Honda's 50th anniversary, S2000 production was extended in response to customer demand and critical acclaim.

"The S2000 is a sports car designed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts," said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "It raised the bar for all future roadsters, and it's already considered a classic by many Honda fans."

As a true sports car that can serve as a practical and fun daily driver yet feel equally at home on a racetrack, this concept further evolved with a club racer-inspired S2000 CR trim, first offered in the 2008 model year. The S2000 has been honored with multiple awards through the years, including four appearances on Car and Driver Magazine's coveted "10-Best" list.

The S2000 is sold in 64 countries around the world with cumulative world-wide sales of over 110,000 since its introduction in 1999. Over 65,000 S2000s have been sold in the United States since 1999.
