When it comes to talking about the environment, we let our products speak for themselves. In 1974, Honda introduced the ingeniously simple Civic CVCC engine. World-changing for its fuel efficiency and low emissions, the CVCC demonstrated our spirited commitment to environmentally responsible technology and was the first car to meet the 1970 U.S. Clean Air Act standards on engine performance alone. Many other firsts were to follow, such as the first hybrid vehicle sold in North America and the first government-certified fuel-cell car. This legacy of innovation and acting on our beliefs is seen in every Honda product, from the Civic GX Natural Gas Vehicle (Estimated 36 mpg on the highway), the FCX Clarity fuel cell electric vehicle (Estimated 30 Miles-Per-Kilogram on the highway), the Insight (Estimated 43 mpg on the highway) and the Civic Hybrid (Estimated 45 mpg on the highway).
