Is Your Car Making a Grinding Noise When You Start It?

When you put your key ignition and the car will not start, many people immediately blame the battery. If your car has been making a grinding sound, whining, or you see a bit of smoke when you start it, your starter might need replaced. If this is the case, you need to take your car in for service as quickly as possible.

The starter is a gear located on the bottom of the engine. Over time, they wear out like many moving parts. One of the first signs is a grinding noise, similar to when you accidentally turn the ignition when the engine is already running. It will not get better on its own, which means it is time for a replacement.

If your car is beginning to grind when you start it, then it is time bring it in to DCH Honda of Temecula and have our auto service professionals check your starter. This is a good time to have other service performed, too.
