News of Honda's decision to phase out the Element came as a surprise for many. Shortly thereafter, many people began to speculate that the Ridgeline would be next. That, however, is mere hearsay. Honda indicates that the Ridgeline is not on the chopping block. Rather, it will prevail.

Despite humble Ridgeline sales, John Mendel, Executive Vice President, Honda's U.S. unit explains that the Ridgeline has developed a strong following and it increases Honda's "share of the garage."1

Mendel also reveals that Honda has a long way to go on the Ridgeline. However, at this time, there is no commitment as to when a next-generation Ridgeline would be built.
