Honda recently unveiled the next-generation 2013 Honda Accord at the North American International Auto Show, in Detroit. Following a year where Honda's best-selling vehicle failed to achieve optimal growth due to three natural disasters, it's a welcome indicator that the automaker is planning to take the market by storm in 2012.
Speaking at the Detroit show, John Mendel, Honda America's Executive VP even went so far as to say, "We're here to serve notice to the competing that Honda is again firing on all four cylinders."1... He went on to boast, "The new, ninth-generation Accord will raise the bar again."2

The 2013 Honda Accord Coupe concept displays an athletic body; revised, four-sided honeycomb grille; and lower fog-lights with posh, crystallized chrome inlays. Adding to its commanding presence are generously-sized, 20-inch, machine-finished, five-spoke wheels; a rear spoiler and large exhaust finishers.

For the super eco-conscious who don't want to sacrifice convenience, there will also be an all-new Accord Plug-In Hybrid. And for the performance enthusiasts out there - a V6, featuring a new six-speed automatic transmission.
The next-gen Honda Accord also wins in terms of safety, introducing not only Lane Departure Warning (a feature typically reserved for luxury models), but also Forward Crash Warning. Taking into account all of the vehicle's safety features in aggregate, we'd say it looks to be in very good position to take top safety ratings from not only the IIHS but also the NHTSA.
What about the qualities drivers loved about previous generations? Rest assured, not everything about the 2013 Honda Accord is changed. Generous cabin space is, for example, one thing which will very much remain the same.
