From areas like DCH Honda of Temecula, to across the world in Japan, many people are surrounded new Honda models every day. Honda is striving to become a more global brand, and that means keeping a keen eye out for opportunities as they arise. One of those opportunities is in Western Africa, particularly, Nigeria.
Why Nigeria? Honda has its eyes set on the country because it's the largest market in Western Africa; so it's only fitting that the Japanese automaker will set up a subsidiary there and import vehicles into the country. Models such as the Civic, CR-V, and Accord built in the U.S. will be imported to Nigeria. Additionally, the Honda City car, built in Thailand, will make an appearance in the country, as well.
Honda appears pretty confident about this one. The automaker's investing $11.5 million in Nigeria's capital, Lagos, home of Honda Automobile Africa. This is the second time Honda's made a home on the continent; the first time was in 2000 when it arrived in South Africa.
