When it comes to the 2014 Honda Odyssey, you're ready to get your family geared up for the road. The kids are messy? No problem. There's a built-in vacuum cleaner to fix that. Need ample room for cargo? The minivan seats up to eight people, and when you're not using the back, you can use the One-Motion 60/40 split third-row Magic Seat to create the space you need. But what about using it as a book mobile or as a lemonade stand?
The latter two are creative examples of how a few helpful dads helped make a difference in their communities. Honda's teamed up with the National Fatherhood Initiative and the Life of Dad to launch videos of fathers helping kids. The campaign, known as "Dads Doing Good" is purposed to help strengthen the bond between father and child and have them engage in community service projects throughout Los Angeles.
So, how does one use an Odyssey as a book mobile or as a lemonade stand assistant? The first video in the series shows three excited fathers loading up the minivan with hundreds of books to bring to preschool children. They load it up, and they set up an outdoor library at the school's playground. The kids enjoyed it, and the books were donated to the school.
As for the lemonade stand, the dads used two Odyssey minivans stationed on either side of a lemonade stand. A young girl explains how her cousin who was born with a congenital heart defect. The lemonade was free, and for every cup given out, Honda donated money to raise awareness for congenital heart defects.
So we've seen the Odyssey's creative capacity to assist dads in doing good for children, and we're seeing some pretty special relationships bud as a result.
