It had been awhile since Honda's Civic had received a refresh, but with the all-new 2016 edition of the venerable compact the wait has proved to be worth it. The Car Connection recently road-tested the new 2016 Civic and found great improvements throughout, from the styling to fuel economy to ride quality. Click "play" in the video clip below to watch their full report.

The standard engine is a 158-horsepower, 2.0-liter inline-4, and it's offered with either a 6-speed manual transmission (on LX models only) or a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which has been carried over from the last-generation Civic. The Car Connection recommends going with the 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four, which produces 174 horsepower, along with up to 35 mpg in terms of fuel efficiency.
